Just use a regular T-stat to trigger a relay. Problem solved!

Re: House Projects
Working on quotes for our theater room. Getting close to pulling the trigger. Jet you recommended the Benq W1070 projector. Still your recomendation? Or is there a better bang for the buck out there now? Looking on Amazon I see those and 1075, 1080, 1085. All under $1k which is my goal, best bang for the buck under 1k

Re: House Projects
Looking at reviews, it seems those models have very similar specs, except the newer ones are short throw so they only have to be a few feet away from the wall for a 100" picture. Are you going to do ceiling mount? Or playing games where you might shadow the picture, or is it just for movies? If just watching movies from a ceiling mount, the 1070 is the best bang for the buck imho.

Re: House Projects
Kind of a toss up between the 1070 and 1075. The 1075 does have a little better picture. Reviews said they would pay an extra 10-15% for the slightly better picture and it is at a 15% premium on Amazon right now. Keep an eye out for a black friday special on either one.

Re: House Projects
Cool. Yeah it will be mounted to the ceiling. Short throw would be nice, just wondering if i really need it.

Re: House Projects
Depends on what size screen you end up going with. If you do need short throw then go with the 1085, it can make a 100" picture at 5'8". I like the projector farther pack if possible so you don't see it.

Once you put it in your cart it gives you a $90 discount. Looks like the sale ended last night too.

Re: House Projects
So we finally have most the details squared away enough to start. Found a contract we like. Plan is to start next week on construction, and be done before Super Bowl.
Just picked up 6 of these sconces for the walls in there, pretty sweet looking we thought.
Jet sorry I've gotten your texts but haven't wanted to buy anything until I was for sure we were ready to go. So now that we are, let me know if you notice a deal on that projector. I do kinda like the 1075 too so let me know if you notice a deal on those too. The short throw on to 1080 is interesting too if we wanted to play Wii or something, less risk of blocking the image. Not sure if I really need that though for the added cost.
Stereo, I've decided I want better speakers. I already have a sub Im happy with, so mainly looking for a 5.0 speaker setup. Kinda like the projector, we are looking for a bang for the buck setup. I had a line on a sweet Klipche setup for a great deal but that fell through. I really don't need that though, looking for decent sound with a decent cost, not uber cheap and not BarFly style either. Any recommendations there? Here is one brand that Im finding a lot of reviews online for being good but inexpensive. They sell 3 different grades, this one is the mid grade.

Also heard good stuff about this Pioneer line as well being good bang for the buck

Re: House Projects
I will watch out for more deals on them. Bang for the buck it is really hard to beat Polk speakers. I have a Polk setup if you want to hear it sometime (except for the sub). I bought a pair of small bookshelf speakers when we moved in to our house that was a temporary thing and I was blown away by how well they sounded and they are very balanced too. I moved those to the surrounds and got bigger fronts and a matching center channel. Very happy and not real expensive.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=-1&isNodeId=1
Monitor 60's for the front, 25 for the center and 40's for the rear and you are at $520. Basically the same setup I have.

Looks like a MIB door or some futuristic door. Took me awhile to realize that it was a light. Cool!
