AEM vs DSMLink vs PowerFC

OK so I was looking into some fuel management stanalones for my buddys Turbo Integra B20.
I have the dsmlink and was looking at the AEM for him or else the PowerFC. The thing is, Im noticing that neither the AEM or the PowerFC have timing control like the DSMlink, or at least they dont say that they have the Timing control. Anyone have any info as to which would be the best for him or whether any of them actually have Timing control or any of the features of the DSMLink.
His mods are:
90 Integra
B20 Vtec block
18G turbo Running 7psi (will be getting his block sleeved and then running more)
FMIC
Greddy Type S BOV
Walboro 255 fuel pump
AEM fuel regulator and FMU (dont know what an FMU is but hes got it lol.)
Exhaust
Skunk 2 Stage 1 Turbo Cams
Retainers and Springs.

Any help would be awesome.

First of all I dont think you could get DSMlink to work in a honda.

You would probably be looking into Hondata or programs like that which are geared towards the Hondas. Uberdata or Crome are a couple others that are popular with the Honda guys.

Talk to Shane, he is familiar with this stuff.

I was using the DSMLink as a reference because i know it has Timing control, wasnt planning on using it in the honda.

Of course the AEM has timing control! It has a full map just like fuel does. You can also put in custom knock retard maps amongst other things.

AEM is still your best bet..with pretty much any car. I hear it's cheaper to get the universal aem box, and pin it yourself, rather then getting the aem honda box, as it's more expensive then the other aem versions for other cars. hondata is a great solution for tuning. TONS of people use it with great success. Good luck to you and your choice.

Convert the car to OBD1 and run Hondata or Crome. That would be the closest to DSMLink(factory ECU control), but it is still closer to cell by cell tuning a speed density standalone versus the limited tuning control of DSMLink. He could try TurboEdit for OBD0 also. AEM does make a box for the OBD0 Hondas now, but tuning an AEM is a bit more complicated. The Power FC will be a major pain in the ass, unless he gets some laptop software. The normal units are tuned by a hand controller, which is like trying to tune an AEM standalone using a calculator instead of a laptop. He needs to dump the FMU and just get bigger injectors, when he goes to a real tuning system.

Anthony: You have it backwards. The Honda AEM boxes are the cheapest. People often use them instead of the universal boxes on other kinds of cars.

And shane is right, the 1050 box is very very popular due to its cheapness and the availability of the harness.
