bought o2 housing
I just recently purchased a atmospheric wastegate what not o2 housing and a 3" downpipe which will go into my de-cat piped 2.5 inch exhaust. just wondering if anyone has gotten a atmospheric wastegate o2 housing and if they recomend it over the normal where the two mix or not and what kind of gains they got from it. Thanks

Re: bought o2 housing
Dumping to atmosphere is loud. Don't really see the point of doing it with an internal gate if that's what you are doing.

"Dumping" does help. I won't go into it.
Now then, what the fuck are you doing here PBPRO?

Re: bought o2 housing
If done right, the external dump will make more power. The downside is that you have more piping under the hood, it's loud when the wastegate is open and it is illegal in some states. Why would you care about power if you are going 3" to 2.5"?
What are you doing? What turbo is this mess for? Why are you wasting our time?

I don't think he knows.
I wish I knew my fluid dynamics better just to throw some actual numbers into how stupid it is going from a 3" downpipe to a 2.5" cat-back. I suppose you're(PB) going to say next that the cat-back is press bent as well.

Re: bought o2 housing
I have an externally dumped O2 housing, I have yet to use it yet though. On an internally gated turbo it should practically eliminate boost creep, which is a huge advantage imho. That's why I got it, and I want to be loud. But that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Re: bought o2 housing
Like Reid mentioned, there is way more to internal WG operation than you guys realize. I have went into it in detail in the past, so do a search if you want to read it.

Re: bought o2 housing
It is just backwards to do a 3" DP into a 2.5" catback. I didn't see any hate in the thread, just people giving you crap for doing something backwards, which you are! Just suck it up, it is part of the learning process If you can't take some shit, this isn't the forum for you!
