I have installed two non-Todd Day stage 3 chips in 1G DSMs recently. The owners got their chips from someone selling them on Ebay. After installation their modded ECUs wouldn't respond to the clutch position, which limits several of the chip's features.

I posted my "fix" on this website a week or so ago. I shouldn't have. Since then I have come to believe someone is selling copies of Todd Day's chip(s) and is violating copyright law. I say this because if the source could create such a program they would also know how to make a working clutch wire attachment! They would have to know that in order to verify the functions of their program and clearly they do not!

Please don't support thieves. It's wrong.

Its possible the custom eproms only support a 2-stage stutter(referenced off the speed sensor, not the clutch switch). There are lots of custom eproms out these days, they're not rip-offs of TMOs code, anybody with knowledge of Motorolas instruction set and an eprom programmer can burn altered chips.Altering DSM eproms is actually becoming common knowledge these days.TMOs code can't be copyrighted, since TMOs code is 99% mitsu's code, which would make TMO in violation of mitsu's copyright.Anyway, I'm very familiar with the 1G code, if the 2 people you speak of would like the problem fixed, I can do it.
