I overnighted the turbo on monday for like $104 or something retarted. It got delivered by 10 am on teusday. I give FP a call today and apparantly they havent even been able to even take a look at it. Really irritating to waste the much money on shipping only to have your turbo sit on a shelf somewhere. If they're so busy then they shouldnt have told me to ship it out so quickly.
Not sure if its just my luck but this is the 2nd FP turbo I've blown on this car but and patients are wearing thin.....
Their products are awesome when they work lol. That is why everyone goes to them.
They are a small shop though and get backed up very easily. I'd never expect them to look at a turbo quick. I did the same thing when I shipped my stock turbo to get the black conversion...took them like 3 weeks to even tell me if the core was acceptable.
Hopefully they get you something soon though, that sucks.
FP inspected the turbo and the conclusion is that the turbine wheel somehow drooped off the shaft after a hot shutdown causing the balance to be thrown off.
Because I sent in a used turbo to be upgraded their will be no warranty but they're helping me out on the replacement cost.
If you don't remember shutting the turbo down while it was hot, I don't think that was the cause. Its a possibility it could of been from the previous owner, but FP's turbo quality has been decreasing and I think this is another case.
Good luck to you, hopefully I'll be out soon to see some live action.
