I found these two links about octane boosters: Using toulene as an octane booster and Homebrewing your own octane boosters.

I looked into using toluene last year. There doesn't seem to be any downside if you use it in moderation. I haven't found a place under $6/gal in the cities though.

Re: Octane Booster Information

I see it at Sherwin Williams in St Paul for 5.xx/gal. Might start using it.

Talk about thread resurrection, I'll see if I can find some good information to add to the original post since the thread is back to life.

Re: Octane Booster Information

Just buy some 110 from a gas station. Toluene is supposed to work well though. I may try it sometime just because the 110/111 you get seems to vary a lot.

Re: Octane Booster Information

Coming from the north, you get off on the ramp, and take a left and at the 4 way stop you take a right (unless it's changed since I've been there) and the gas station is right next to Mc Donalds. Basically on the east side of 35.

Re: Octane Booster Information

Don't take this the wrong way, but your direction skills suck. Where do you exit on 35? I don't know where that McDonalds is.
