Where does this sensor go?

I am almost done putting my car back together after having the head off. I cannot figure out where this hooks up to. I know it is the cam position sensor and it sits behind the intake cam, but I have no idea where the connector plugs into.

Please help! Im hoping to get this running asap.

Thanks,
Cole

Re: Where does this sensor go?

I think it might have been on there still from when the previous owner put a JDM engine into it. It has the CAS on the passenger side of the intake cam and that is actually hooked up.

So my question now is, do I even need this?

If you have a 1g cas you do not need that one

That's a 97-99 cas.

Re: Where does this sensor go?

You need the 97 cas and the crank sensor
Or
95-96 cas behind the cam gear and crank sensor.
Just depends in the cas plug on the harness 95-96 or 97-99

Re: Where does this sensor go?

ok, that makes more sense, now I just have to find where the cas behind the cam gear plug into. I see nothing that has a square plug.

Re: Where does this sensor go?

Is anyone with this style plug (from the original post) able to chase the wires in their car and see where it connects to and where that connector is located?

Re: Where does this sensor go?

If it's in the 97 it will not have a plug for the cam gear cas. Just will have the crank plug and cas plug on the pass side for the 97+ cas

Re: Where does this sensor go?

so this pic is the crank sensor right? I feel like missing something here, but if I truly have no need for the sensor behind the cam gears and only the sensors in this post then I can take that out? no harm to anything?

Re: Where does this sensor go?

95 and 96 had the cam sensor behind the cam gear. All others had it on the end of the cam. It looks like you have a 97-99 style cam sensor so you shouldn't need the one behind the gear.
