FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
Some said that the original "HTA35R" was not worth it...it's a $400 option on top of the price of a GT35R. FP had actually made the turbo in an effort to make better low-end than a regular 35R, and they succeeded by making it with a smaller, more efficient wheel. One side effect was a little more top-end power than a standard 35R. Still a great turbo, but...
FP saw PTE's 6262 and decided to up the ante and make their HTA design full sized, and dub it the HTA86, or HTA GT3586R. The results speak for themselves, I will post dyno graphs as they come.

First up, standard GT35R vs HTA86 on an STI. 34psi:
Yes, that is a 81whp/57wtq gain with zero loss in bottom end.

Meh.. You can already go 9's on a regular GT35R, they need to work on spooling bigger turbos faster.

Re: FP's new HTA86: GT3586R
This is a comparison between buschur's FS365 (believed to just be the PTE 6262) and the HTA86 @ 42psi:
Notice the gain in power everywhere!
This car ran 9.2@157?mph before it blew up the rear diff and ended the season.
This is the HTA86 versus the FP RED:
The car had previously run 9.57@~145mph with the red. This is a maxed out car with zero compromise concerning power. Big cams, aem, built motor, head, ported everything, etc.

Thus the HTA82. Check the other thread for info on that one.
Variable vein turbos are not going to make it into the market overnight

Yeah, they have only been around in production cars since the 80's
The HTA86 looks nice!

They need to actually make a big turbo.

Also, yes you can go 9's on a regular 35R, but guess what, people are knocking on the door of 8's with this thing!

Damn, that thing is a beast. I wonder if the stock internals in my 1G can handle 700hp?

And spool like shit. This turbo is real-world driveable.

Re: FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
How well will it work the maxed out 2G MAS, maxed out single Walbro fuel pump, ancient Turblownetics Racegate with 6psi spring, and too small of an intake pipe?

Re: FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
get a new wastegate already! Prolly work fine with your intake setup. Ignore the MAS.

Just hack the MAS, honeycombs are for bees, and fuck bees.

You don't want to fuck the bees...For one, painful. Two, no bees=no pollination. That's bad. I say fuck the honeycomb.

Even without the honeycombs, it's not even close. We need the V3 link with speed density.
