Crower 272 Cams... useable???
the scoop is this, thought i was getting a deal on craigslist, guy seemed pretty cool, used paypal so I should be safe but anyway bought these cams, and got them today and am not sure exactly what to think... looks like there was a spun bearing on one of them and they got a bit hot. What are your guys opinions are they still decent? I was told they only had about 2000miles on them and that they were re-polished, which is not apparent to me.

i hate it when i spin bearings on my cams. (no such thing)
I think you mean to say there is some scoring on them.
Not sure why you would post this thread without pics, so i will just throw this out there.

read towards the end of the thread i posted, they may be repairable if the scoring isnt too deep. The guy that singletracker used seemed to have cleaned them up quite nicely for dirt cheap.

Re: Crower 272 Cams... useable???
And as said in the link, if you are not sure bring them to a machine shop that knows what they are doing, and they should be able to polish the cams if needed. If the marks can be felt by running your finger nail across the journal I would not just bolt them in.

Re: Crower 272 Cams... useable???
Thanks guys, exactly what i was looking for, just a few opinions on them. I think i may give that machine shop, that singletracker went to, a ring in the morning and run over there and see what they think of the cams just to be sure.

Re: Crower 272 Cams... useable???
Yea, s1ngletracker had my old cams polished for like $40. Turned out good as new as far as I know, but yours don't really look all that bad IMO. I've seen much worse.
