WAY too big IMO. There is also no reason for 3" IC piping.

kracka jack is right. You will lose a ton of pressure having such a big intercooler and the 3 inch piping should be what you use for your exhaust haha.

Jesus. That's a monster FMIC. 4" thick, wow! What brand is it if I may ask? If it's ETS you don't want that, just throw it away, wait, better yet, give it to me.

Re: Is 24x12x4 Intercooler too big for the E316g??

I was going to run a 24x12x3 intercooler with 2-2.5" on a 400-500whp setup. That intercooler is enormous, and 3" piping is going to do more harm than good.

It will work fine. Sure its going to take a few fractions of a second longer to fill the extra volume, but that is all.

Yeah, an intercooler can never really be too big. It is a bit overkill, but it wouldn't hurt anything but a tad bit of spool. That core with 2.5" piping would be just fine.

Use the big core, but just run 2.5" piping. Bigger is mostly better, in general. Just not tooo big. That core size is just about right, as long as it flows well

For twin 16G's. I personally like to match all my parts to my setup and not go by the "bigger is better" modding. Going really big may net you a higher peak number, but it will be at the cost of throttle response and spool.

I stand by my original statement but I missed the fact that this is an ebay core, which means it probably has a lot of pressure drop. In general, bigger is better, but you are on the threshold with that core size of what might be 'too big'.

Honestly, your biggest bang/buck is going to be to get an evo 8 FMIC and mismatch some piping together to make it fit.

i have a 27x12x3 ebay intercooler with 2.5 IC pipings. Most likely, i'll switch to a name brand Intercooler sooner or later.

I got this one. http://www.siliconeintakes.com/produ...7840aa17f29a05 Love it, no problems and after driving hardfor around 45 minutes to LA, got out and felt the sides, Hot side was warm, cold side was ICE cold.

ETS makes a good FMIC for the Galant's. I'd do the big core with 2.5" piping. It'll work just fine on a 16G and leave room for when you upgrade.
