2002 Mirage Coupe Swapped Evo 4g63t
Hey guys! I thought I'd throw my build on here to see what u guys think. It's a 2002 Mitsubishi Mirage LS Coupe. I've had the car for a couple years now but I finally decided to go ahead with the build. After I sold my Evo8, I decided to start my Mirage build. Since I had a bunch of parts collecting dust I figured why not. I scored on a mirage parts car that the previous owner had done a bunch of stuff done on. So I picked it up and salvage whatever I could.
I'm not done yet but I'm awfully close. A lot of sweat, blood, and tears. Here's a parts list: Engine: Tomie 272 Camshaft Dual Valve Springs AC&PS Delete BS Delete Wiseco Pistons Eagle Rods HAFE Manifold Garrett GT3076R Megan Downpipe Stainless Steel Oil Lines Kinugawa Water Lines TiAL 44mm Wastegate TiAL Q 50mm BOV Omni 3bar Map Sensor Jdm Sti 565cc Aeromotive FPR DW340lp Fuel Pump Evo 4 Transmission ACT Clutch Monoloc XTD 6puck Clutch MAP Clutch Fork Stop STM Stainless Steel Clutch Line Evo 8 Slave Cylinder VR4 1 1/16 Brake Master Cylinder STM Oil Cooler and Thermostat Delete TRE FWD LSD Transfer Case Evo 4 Aluminum Radiator Evo 4 Radiator Upper Mounts Misimoto Upper Radiator Silicone Hose Evo Intercooler Interior: Evo 6 JDM Recaro Seats AEM Digital Boost Gauge AEM Digital WideBand Exterior: Stock for now Suspension: 5 Lug Swap Evo 4 Knuckles Evo 8 Brembo Evo 8 Rotors Evo 8 Control Arms Evo 8 Front Sway Bar Technica Stainless Steel Brake Line Mirage Non-PS Manuel Steering Rack Ralliart Trailing Arms Custom Toe Arms Megan Camber Arms Whiteline Rear Swaybar ASR Subframe Brace Beaks Lower Tie Bar Aluminum LCA Cusco Rear Strut Bar KYB AGX H&R Springs Wheels: Evo 9 SE BBS 17x8 Things I still need to do: Custom intercooler pipings Weld and install IAT bung to run speed density Weld WideBand bung Custom axle back Wirings Ecu flash Tune Before: stock 1.8 4g93 t25 turbo http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...swuyk484d.jpeg Parts car next to My coupe http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...psgp6qrk0b.jpg Some random pictures over the years: Removed the PS components and rack and replaced it with a Mirage non-powerseteering rack http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...smkapk0d9.jpeg Started on the EVo 5 lug front Brembo swap and Stainless steel brake lines http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...s8p507lha.jpeg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...spdezmdj5.jpeg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...sjs7r7nts.jpeg Upgrading the stock Master Cylinder to utilize the bigger brakes http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...sl3kjriow.jpeg Removing and replacing the stock Mirage trailing arms with 04-06 ralliart. You did that all in your driveway? Neighbors must love you. :D
Looks good, love these projects. |

Lol. Very surprised I never had any problems. Nice elderly neighborhood too.
Thanks |
Re: 2002 Mirage Coupe Swapped Evo 4g63t
Nice build! I'd consider an Adaptronic for your ECU. They make one for the Evo IV-VIII and the Mirage. I have one in my RX-7 and it's been great. That is a really nice build. Maybe you could have it ready for a spring cruise.

Re: 2002 Mirage Coupe Swapped Evo 4g63t
No need. My ecu is flashable so I'm going the ecuflash route like the Evos. Cheaper and should be good enough for my setup.
The cruise sounds fun but wont be sure til the car is running. |
Re: 2002 Mirage Coupe Swapped Evo 4g63t
Awesome build! I was wondering about the transfer case until I scrolled down.
What are you doing for a harness? |
Re: 2002 Mirage Coupe Swapped Evo 4g63t
Most of the plugs are plug and play. I only have to extend a few plugs and switch the crank sensor plug and injectors. Everything else is going to get deleted out.

Re: 2002 Mirage Coupe Swapped Evo 4g63t
Pushed it into the garage a couple weeks ago and started on the harness. Had to swap a few pins and extend some others. I figured I'd do a mild wire tuck since I had the wiring loom unwrapped.

I was able to relocate the fuse box in a nice place. http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...sbpnnpd8f.jpeg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...sdiczwcws.jpeg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...s1xmpxnb4.jpeg Eventually, I will be respaying the bay once I repaint the car. |

Re: 2002 Mirage Coupe Swapped Evo 4g63t
Loaded up a Rom file I've been working on for the evo 4g63t in the Mirage. Cranked it a couple of times without the coils plugged. Put the plugs in and BAM! IT LIVES!!!!!
Heres the first startup. Sorry if I was moving so much. It was just me so I had to make sure I wasn't leaking any fluids. Enjoy  http://vid307.photobucket.com/albums...pscwp2sk1l.mp4 |
