Here is a tip. Don't reuse headgaskets, don't copper spray. Make sure your block and head are perfectly flat. Make the surfaces clean enough to do surgery on the on them or at least eat off of. Copper headgaskets don't work worth a crap unless you have an O-ringed/receiver block/head, so do you expect some copper goo to hold back 2500psi of cylinder pressure? It CAN do more harm than good. I would only use copper spray or a sealant to stop oil drain hole style leaks that cars like Hondas get at the corners of their heads. If you insist on spraying your entire headgasket with something, at least use a product made for that, it's called Hylomar and Valco sells it in spray cans. It's made for headgaskets and it can handle higher temperatures than copper spray. Or go buy a nice new Cometic MLS, they come with a Viton sealing layer on them, they don't need to be re-torqued, and when installed CORRECTLY to FLAT surfaces, they will handle 40+ psi no problem.
