ticking?

At start my car has a tick that settles down but its still there. Around the intake manifold and the valve cover and i can hear it from my breather valve filter when i put my ear to it. I read on VFAQ.com that there is some carbon build up on the valves and that causes a ticking. Is this the case you think? it is very suttle and doesnt affect the performance of my car. Also my car is a 95 2nd gen tsi awd with mods

Re: ticking?

It's probably just your lifters. Mine does that all the time and it eventually goes away. Try using 20w-40 or a thicker oil, that helps make the ticking go away quicker.
