Cracked Tranny Case

Hey, my little brother just cracked his second transmission case. He has a '95 Eclipse GST with a fully built engine and a 60 trim. The transmissions cracked near the mount both times. When he built his engine, he also installed a phantom grip and solid mounts. Each transmission has lasted only a short time. Any ideas?

I'm sure he's making more power, but that would brake the transmission on the inside, not the case itself, right?

Thanks,

Travis

Is he wheel hoping and sending the diff through the case?
Nash and barton both have first hand experience with this. (I think the reason they both went awd).

Does he have both dowel pins in? If the crack isn't too bad I can weld it up for him.
