Pistons a little help

I just got my rebuild kit from slowboy. The topline one. I took a look at the pistons today and started puting the rings on and notice that the bottom one the space is too big. It makes it around the piston and overlaps itself by like < 1CM. What do I do? cut it? Or is it sapose to be loose fit? I tried to take a pic but my cam is being narnar.
Thanks,
Mike

I think that is what its called. it goes where the little holes on the pistons are and its a piece that is wavy.

Re: Pistons a little help

The control ring is supposed to run a little big, it is directional as well. There are pretty specific details on how to install it. From the PM I got from you, it sounds like your block isn't back yet, you should wait till after your block is back before you assemble the pistons anyway. Always double check the machine shops math by checking your own piston to wall clearance as well as ring end gap, even on the cast pistons with the topline kit. You can't really do that correctly with the pistons assembled already.

Hopefully you got a decent kit. I wish you luck! I have heard a lot of horror stories about the topline kits.
