If your clutch disengages fine, and doesn't drag, and engages/disengages within the acceptable range, it is fine. The point of the longer clutch rods is for more "leverage" against a clutch cover. You usually need the leverage due to: 1) Failing old worn out clutch system/components.
2) You have some crazy clutch system and need a longer throw to compensate.
FYI:
We bought out QPR's inventory of the longer clutch rod. I think they are about $20 each.
