Turbo head on a non-turbo 2.0

This has probably been covered before but I don't have alot of time to research it right now. Will a 1g turbo head work on a 1g non-turbo 2.0? What differences are there between them (cams, sensors, manifolds etc.). I have a friend that roached a head on a non-turbo and I have a good turbo head that I can sell him if it will work. Need to know whether or not he could keep my cams in there or if he would need his in there.

Thanks

Re: Turbo head on a non-turbo 2.0

The heads are the same except the cams. The only variation you might find is some of the 90 heads have smaller coolants passages but its not a big deal really. Another difference you might find that isn't a huge deal is some of the N/T heads came with a block off plug for the turbo oil feed, turbo heads did not.

So you should be able to toss his cams in your turbo and head and toss it right on. It wasn't uncommon back in the day of tons of timing belt failures to have a N/T head on a turbo car or the other way around.

And all replacement valves are the turbo style I guess so you shouldn't have a problem there.

Accually if he wants just a little bit of performance that he should just leave the turbo cams in there. The Exaust is the same but the Intake is a little bit bigger.
