Brakes

well my stock rotors and brake pads are pretty much shot, so i am looking to upgrade to something a little better. what are some good rotors to go with? i am looking to stay under $200 for just the rotors.

Re: Brakes

Unless you are going to upgrade to larger diameter rotors and bigger calipers I would just get some good quality blanks from the parts store. You will be well under your $200 budget and can sock that money away for something worthwhile.

Re: Brakes

Don't waste your money on "performance" rotors. Stock ones will do just fine. Performance pads and stainless braided brake lines with make a HUGE difference. You can usually get lines for $100-150, and pads for $50-100. Know anyone who works at a parts store, you can usually get new stock rotors with a discount for $15-25!!

I have heard good things about Axxis Ultimate pads.

Re: Brakes

Porterfield R4-S pads with Powerslot rotors. Powerslots are plated to prevent hat rusting; also, a quality rotor will resist warping much better and stop shorter than the cheap "OEM" rotors from a parts store. The slots/holes really won't do anything in terms of performance, so a Brembo stock replacement rotor would be good too.

Re: Brakes

I was refering to a quality Bendix, Wagner, Raybestos etc... not the Wearever or other cheapo parts store brand rotors. They can be had for about $60-70 per rotor and will give just as good results as Brembo blanks.
