Weird idle

In the morning when i first start up my car it will idle at about 900 rpms. Which i feel is about right. after i have been driving my car around for a little while it will start idling at 2000 rpms or sometimes even greater. Anyone know what this problem is.

Re: Weird idle

Does the idle jump around or is it always, approximately 900 rpm and then later on always, approximately 2000 rpm?

Re: Weird idle

I tried to track down an idle issue for a long time, I ended up having to loosen one of the cables comming out of the box on the firewall just alittle, the right cable if I remember right. But have you tried checking the simple things like the isc/faiv and vac leaks?

Re: Weird idle

Its at about 900 when i first start it, then after driving, it stays around 2000. Timing was just done a few days ago. vac is good. Ill take a look at the cables tomorrow. But i think its more in the computer, because its not like it sticks or anything. I tried lifting the pedal and it didnt seem to help any.

Re: Weird idle

I figured it out. Just a sticky cable. Just a little Knock Er Loose on it and its all better.
