Checking for Crankwalk

I'm trying to see what techniques people have used to check for crankwalk. I know there is this one: http://www.angelfire.com/pa4/awdcrankwalk/ which I'm going to give a try. Has anyone else had success with this technique? or advise another technique without having to take off the oil pan? And is 0.006" the amount of play that classifies it as a walking crank? Thanks in advance.

I would use a dial indicator on a magnetic base, but that procedure will work pretty well. It will give you a ball park anyway. .006" is good. I think factory is .009" for the top of the spec, if you are at .015" it is starting to go. I had one come it at over .060" and it still ran, but was on its last leg. It was having shifting issues.

Whats crank walk?? and should i be worried???

Kills your engine, but you have a 6 bolt so everything is cool. 2g's get it the worst.

uhm.. so yea we checked for crankwalk today but we're not sure about the numbers. We got .008-.010.. and then .025 but I duno about that last one, lol.
