They had all this in a Car and Driver article back in 91. It was their January Top Ten issue. Ten tips for fearless flying was the name of the article. I sitll have the magazine sitting on my coffee table. It was a very good article. It goes into a little more detail than this though.
And yeah, it is all common sense. In the article he said, "If someone wants to show you how much faster their car is than yours, in no way discourage him from doing so. He will now become your radar shield for any patrol cars down the road." I always loved that one. Used it to my advantage more times than I can remember.
