rusted to f*ck nuts on fuel pump cover solutions

i am having the worst time with this stupid little area. The cover was so rusted i cant even describe it. After much PB blaster, chiseling and dremeling i've gotten most of the nuts off successfuly. I also broke one, yay. The last two are giving me insane troubles, even though i've been PB blasting them for weeks.

I was THINKING about applying some heat to these nuts, but its obviously in the worst part of the car for such an idea.

I've also thought about just breaking the studs, then drilling them all out and holding the cover down with rivets when i reinstall it.

I dunno, i'm looking for advice or a planB. Spare gvr4 fuel tanks are hard to come by and even more $$$ to ship.

Dont tell me to run a fuel cell either.

I would CAREFULLY apply some heat to them. I've had the best luck with a small butane torch. They're not going to need much. Just a little bit around the outside of the nuts

Yea, a small torch works wonders.

drop the tank, and play with it outside the car! Why would you rivet the lid back on? what if you have to take it back off, you really want to drill them all out?

I just put self tapping screws back on mine. You can do one better and JB Weld new studs facing up. Just be sure to get a magnet under while you are drilling them out.

Just put a fuel cell in, or us a plasma cutter it would be fine. My tank only had 3 nuts left, use some RTV or window weld when you put it back together.

heat the nuts up and touch a parafin candle to them, the wax acts like a penitrating lube, plus the heat helps knock em loose.
