how do you keep your rotors perdy

How do you guys keep the rustyness off your rotors? I've got almost brand new stock rotors and they already have some nastyness on the middle. What do you guys do to clean that and prevent from it happening?

You can get new rotors dipped in zinc (or cadium) to keep them silver looking and not rust. I doubt you can do it with used rotors though. Powerslot rotors are coated, thats why they don't rust. Any local coating shop should be able to do it; I know the going-rate up in Duluth is about $30.

Paint the center and around the top where the vents are with high temp paint(black). When you hit the brakes the paint(overspray) on the brake surface will wear off and all the parts where the brake pad doesnt touch will be black and rust free.

Well its too late to get them coated, but painting them sounds interesting. Theres a guy with a blue evo that works at like old country buffet or the mattres place or something, and I noticed his rotors looked like shit one day, and the next they were like brand new. I was contemplating using some steel wool, to try and remove the rust, but Idk if that's a good idea.

if you do that to clean the rust, after the first rain the rust will come right back.

get them coated or get new ones that are already coated.

I have not actually tried this myself but Im assuming it will work. When I get my dual piston calipers Im gonna get new rotors and paint them.

Be sure to get the paint made for brakes so it can dissipate heat properly.

Make sure that when you paint the rotors, you don't get any on the actual braking surface, as that will probably end up fucking over your pads, or at least make them underperform.

Here is an idea for you guys painting your rotors:

Take a cardboard frozen pizza tray and just cut a circle out of the center and use that as a painting template for both sides of the rotor. That way no paint will get in the braking surface.

Yea I am back at school so maybe over winter break I'll paint em. I'm planning on doing a lot of exsessive taping to make sure i dont get paint all over parts that shouldn't get paint on em. I really dont want to remove my break pads though because they can be a bitch to get back in sometimes. So idk what I'll do with that.

Mine always get rusty when I dont drive mine. I guess I'll have to park it in the garage from now on.
