Think of it as offering a discount without the title, not adding more with. Considering it's a very good possibility that you couldn't get a title for it if it didn't come with one, I'd say his modest change in price is pretty reasonable. If I could scrounge up some money, I'd probably buy it.

I'm in the same boat as Steve. It is very tempting, but the uncertainty of the auto tranny and the previous owners comment on how it ran is a slight concern(on top of the known issues). I will watch this thread to see what happens and see what I can come up with.

BTW, you mentioned you needed a car that actually moved.. Are you looking for basic transportation that is reliable? Or are you looking for something nice..? I have a 1990 Subaru Legacy LS AWD(rusty/clean interior) that is very reliable, it needs a little brake work, but other then that, it is very reliable. Just throwing it out there to see if a trade of some sort is an option.
