Re: My Talon

I will see if I can find a pic of my old black 1g. Depending how you routed your FMIC, you can put the air filter right in the front bumper. I made short route piping (cut a hole near radiator) and cut the inside of the engine bay near where the filter was. I then manuvered piping down into the fenderwell and had my filter right in the bumper. I didn't make an airtight box or anything but it worked well. I am not sure if I showed it to you back in the day...

My chances of actually finding a pic are 5% though.

On a side note, I didn't notice any difference personally when I got rid of cruise control, PS, or AC.

I eliminated them to clean up the engine bay, not to gain anything

Also, I used to run a "Buschur Cold Air Intake" that put a cone filter right in front of the tire. Sucking up water a few times made me decide thats a bad idea. The filter itself is staying in the stock location, But I want it to get fresh cold air so an air box is needed. I will enlarge the stock sidemount intercooler piping hole, and by that I mean get the sawzall out. I'm gonna probably run 4" or 5" dryer duct from the bumper cover to the air box.

I will post pics as I go!

Engine and tranny are sitting on a pallet infront of my car

I had it for a couple of years without any problems sucking up water. I used the "sawzall technique" as I was fitting a large intake pipe down there. I had to cut a lot out and use the tin snips around the fender area as it was a little tight. May go easier if you use the sawzall from the bottom.
