Dataloger findings

Upon finally getting my PDA hooked up to an old enough computer I was able to check things out with my really poor running eclipse.

The only stored error I had was for my throttle position sensor. I don't know how just this could make my car run like junk all the time.

when I went into the data log section my throttle position was reading at 9-10 and underneath it read 9/ 11 so is this something normal? My air fuel ratio was 18 to 19 and again underneath those two numbers it gave me 18.XXX/19.XXX I am going out on a limb and thinking these are ranges to be in? What should my a/f read at idle?

Well on a wideband oxygen sensor you should be seeing around 14.7:1 afr to 15afr, thats what mitsubishi and most people usually shoot for.
A poorly functioning tps could be a huge deal on a vehicle. That is the source of your accel and decel fuel triggers. It seems that your throttle only shows 10% max? That would mean you have no accel fuel or decel fuel settings. The ecm is most likely in a limp home mode also due to the lack of a throttle signal.

Once my TPS was off by 15% or so (had it maxed the wrong direction of adjustment) and it ran like absolute crap. Definitely get a new one.

Re: Dataloger findings

I saw it get up to 80% when I had it floored but I wasnt driving it so I don't know the real effect of that is going on. I know 98% I am running rich since I managed to get about 50 miles on a 1/4 of my tank so far.

Re: Dataloger findings

then again if the single wire sticking out of the top of the throttle body is part of the tps I know I unplugged it at one point because it was loose and then put it back on while the car was running at that time.

Plus since you can rotate it a little bit would this do anything? I have doubts since it has never been moved before. Anyone got a spare for dirt cheap?

You can pick them up for less than $10, and yea rotating back and forth is bad, it should be tightened down.

Re: Dataloger findings

If it's loose, that's your problem. Adjust your TPS by watching your datalogger, look for a number close to 0% with the throttle plate closed(duh!) and you should see 100% when you hold the loud pedal to the floor.

On the datalogger site it says its normal to read 10% with your foot off the throttle.

Re: Dataloger findings

It's not loose I was saying that it looks like it is able to have a bit of adjustment but if it is supposed to read 10% then it is fine. I ran a multimeter to the TPS on my Eclipse and my Talon and it looks like they bot read the same. So I may think that this is now out of the question.

Is there anybody that would be willing to take a look at this thing by chance? I am running out of ideas and I'm about to go ballistic.

Re: Dataloger findings

I replaced my TPS to no prevail. One last thing I would like to test before idk what, is to try replacing my injectors quick to see if this is my problem.

Is there anyone out there that is kind enough that has any extra injectors they would be willing to let me borrow to test out. NON-TURBO injectors.
