I still think its funny that cows put out more pollution than vehicles do.

My main reason for not eating meat. The average diet results in the equivalent environmental effect of both driving and powering (electricity, heating, cooling, etc...) of a home combined. A vegan diet is ~1/10 of that. If people wish to escape regulation they will need to step up with the personal responsibility and do something substantial. If people can't, by and large, make effective choices themselves they will be regulated. Personally I'd rather have a choice in the matter.
