Re: Project S14 240sx
Thanks! The biggest obstacle so far is the wiring that he fucked all to hell. I just downloaded a factory service manual, and I'm pretty sure that has all the wiring diagrams I'll need to get it straightened out.

Man that sucks on the wiring! Can you purchase a manual wiring harness maybe?

Re: Project S14 240sx
As I've said before, if anything gets swapped into the car it's gonna be an RB25. And on the wiring, I'm gonna pull it all up and pull all the covering off so I can see exactly what I'm working with. There's a guy in Milwaukee parting out one right now, so I'm gonna see about maybe getting his engine harness.
Today we got the front suspension raised up a little more than an inch, so it's not slammed to the ground anymore. Also took off the stock clutch fan since they are pretty much useless. The AC fan is wired to a switch in the interior, but I'm gonna be changing that so it comes on with the key. Also, the rear tires are absolutely bald on the inner sides, the right rear is down to the steel belts. So I hope it warms up soon so I can throw on my DSM summer wheels.
Yesterday I was researching tuning options and came across a guy in Australia running a KA-T with the same turbo I'll be putting on it (GT3076R) and and at 22psi he made something like 413whp on 110 octane, so I'm hoping I should get close to that with E85. His engine was completely stock aside from forged pistons and head studs.

Re: Project S14 240sx
Wow, you should make some good power with that thing, you gonna do a top mount manifold then?

Re: Project S14 240sx
Of course it'll be a top mount manifold. 240's just look weird with a bottom mount setup

Re: Project S14 240sx
Haha If I can hit 400 on Shane's dyno I'll be happy. I'm not shooting for the moon here. Hell I'm sure 300 will be hard enough to keep traction.

Man, I'm kinda jealous of your stable now kev, turbo 240, nice black 1G, and an SV1000. Glorious!
Will you do forged pistons too, or just leave the motor stock? I'd think you could at least have a little fun on a 100% stock motor and 6-10psi...what do you tune these thigns with anyways? Chip, AEM?

Re: Project S14 240sx
The KA24 internals are fairly strong. The rods are very strong. But the factory ECU with a turbo on it an pump gas runs way too much timing and they blow up. Put an AEM or something on it that gives real control over the ignition timing and you can make some power.
The attached dynosheet is a stock bottom end car, but he had an AEM EMS on E85 with big cams, 61mm turbo and a huge intake manifold. He ran it with the stock bottom end while he was building another motor and now the car runs 9s with the boost cranked up to the high 20s.

Re: Project S14 240sx
When I put the Turbo on it I definitely wont be using the stock ecu. I'm thinking ill either run nistune (nissan version of dsmlink from Australia) aem, or megasquirt 2.

Re: Project S14 240sx
Haha I dunno if it'll make it to a drag strip or not. It's not really set up to be a drag car. I may take it once or twice for fun, but it won't be anything serious.
