Just saw this thing. Amazing!!! This will be one heck of ride. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I now have the 4 hood pins mounted, then I just set the height when I have a hood to install. And the hood can be removed for easy work or can be pulled off with the front clip for bigger jobs.




I boxed in the upper frame rail to the unibody structure, this will help make the front end as strong as possible. Just a little more clean up and a few more welds, then its onto painting before the motor goes back in for finish assembly.



This strip of aluminum replaces the 2lb stock blob of metal, and this does the same job but is a 1/4 of the weight. This is the rear subframe front mount to the body.




The rear bumber cover is back on, I have some tabs on the top underside lip, then the plate in the middle that holds the bottom up. Now just a few more rivits and brackets in the wheel well area and the back of the car is done minus the rear window.

It is getting closer, we will be painting this weekend, then build the dash and start to lay out the wiring.

I realized the other night that I rode in this car back when it had no interior and two seats. We did a pull on 694 with Ryan in his green Galant VR4. Kind of surreal seeing it take on this transformation.

That rear subframe aluminum piece looks scary, is that really gonna help?

The aluminum strip is 3/16" thick and tomorrow I will add spacers to hold the sub frame tight up to the body mount. The stock unit is 1/16" steel and just has what looks like a big washer welded to it to make it as big as the sub frame. But the stock unit tightens down on the center sleave thus not making contact with the sub frame itself.

We have decided to paint all the high traffic areas mat black, and the interior a grey color, the exterior will remain summit white. The idea is to keep the engine bay and trunk looking cleaner.





This will match the block and valve cover that are black also.

8 1600cc injectors (2 per cylinder) as secondary injectors

Why a cometic headgasket? Why not a Felpro permatorque or whatever. All the HIGH hp guys are running that with L19s and love it.

I bought this gasket 6 years ago. It seemed to hold up fine last time it ran. The engine did not push coolant. If the gasket does not work out I will buy the Felpro, again I am starting low on the power and this should hold for a while.

Don't forget last "go around" the car made 660+awhp easily on the last setup, never saw track duty.

The ETA on going down the track is riding on getting the cash together to finish it up. I made the list of stuff still needed for this, and its kind of a big number, a little less then I was thinking though. It might just get up and running enough to drive around, but no track duty for a while, I hope this race season it can show a little of what it can do.
