Should be like 25 feet away... Anyways, if they need to go lower, or higher, the ghetto ass way is pull in your garage with the lights aimed at the door. Shut the garage lights off, make small adjustments. 1 Inch is a big difference! And Test, repeat. I believe to do it properly you need to be like 25 ft away from a wall, and measure some crap. Just go do it.
