Quick Question - Mini Battery

Anyone run a mini battery in their DD?

I'm looking to buy this Evo8 and it already has a mini battery installed.

What I'm hearing is that they drain out pretty easily and that they're only good for about a year or so.

Does anyone run one in their DD? How do they fair in the winter and how well is the battery life?

Thanks in advance

Re: Quick Question - Mini Battery

I had my mini-battery kit that I bought used in my IX for over 2 years with no issues; Scheides had his for 3+ years. He had the Odyssey PC680 and I had the Genesis EP16.

There were a few times on the ultra-cold -10F days I didn't think mine would get my IX with big injectors and cams fired up, but it always did

Re: Quick Question - Mini Battery

I've used an Odyssey PC925 without any issues, the battery lasted surprisingly long if the car had issues. I also run a PC680 in my lawn mower, huge difference between the two. I'd get the 925 if you have the room.

Re: Quick Question - Mini Battery

I've had a mini battery in my car all summer and it hasn't let me down. Unsure if it will survive winter, but I'm guessing it will be fine.

Re: Quick Question - Mini Battery

I used to have a 625, was a little weak in the winter time. I was told that it needs to be charged if let sit for a long time though.

Please note this was in a summer only car that got started occasionally. I think for DDs its fine it seems like one of the first mods for EVos, i believe it help makes room for the intake and/or UICP.
