help with PTE 50 trim turbo

Okay guys I have a question for you. I bought a turbo form one of the member here and on the o2 housing of the turbo where the wastegate flap is there is a cut between the flap and the wheel there. Will it effect anything if I was to run an wastegate on the o2 housing or would I have to block that off? look at the picture if you don't get what I'm saying. The one on the right has an uncut housing and the one on the left has a cut between the flap and the wheel. I got the one that has a cut. Please help.. thanks

Yes it will affect it. Because the O2/WG area will not be sealed anymore, you will always be bypassing some exhaust past the turbine wheel, which I imagine would make it laggier, and harder to achieve higher boost levels.

Yea, if you run an external gate off the o2 you'll basically have an open wastegate 100% of the time. You probably won't make more than 15psi at redline.

Replace the turbine housing or weld in a piece of metal to block it off and make it flush, make sure there are no leaks between the two sides.
