Re: Fall Cruise - October 16-17th, 2010!
Just wanted to make doubly sure Like I said the X is a gas hog...the new setup will be even worse I'd imagine. Good news though.

Well, making good progress on the GSX, so this looks like a go. I'll just be doing the cruise up for the day and then hanging with family Saturday night and Sunday, but it should be fun.

Awesome, we enjoy your company. Hopefully we'll get to toss at least on drink back with you.

I'm sure we can fit that in. Plus, it looks like the whole family is riding up separate, so I'm open for a little more spirited driving than last time, I was kinda holding back.

Jessica and I will not be going. but we may meet up with you all once you are there. We have to go to my parents for the weekend. But Duluth is only 2 hours away so we may run over there one of the days and have some drinks with ya.

The X gets awful gas mileage even on pump and on E85 spirited driving I am lucky to get 13-14mpg's.
So that means I am looking at like 150 miles out of a tank, lol. I might want to bring a 5 gallon can in case i am thinking.
|
The longest leg of the cruise with no E85 along the way is 160 miles. You should be fine.
If you cant get 200 miles out of a tank, you are doing it wrong.

Well I'm down to 1/2 tank now unless I get a new siphon, lol! I should have a solution for that before the cruise.

Barely and only if driving conservatively. I get nervous at 180 and if I boost at all then no way. I always carry a 5gal can though. Carried 10 on the MOD trip.
My new surge tank will add 2.5ltrs. Bonus!

Scheides and I have always got close to our best mpg while on cruises. We arent going WOT the whole trip, you will be fine. Just bring the 5 gal in case.

Anyone else running E85 on a 2ltr would have the same mileage so I don't get your point. According to the specs we have 1/2gallon more tank capacity than a IX.

Re: Fall Cruise - October 16-17th, 2010!
I would avg. 22-25 with my car, but it only made 440/460 @map.
If you are making a big deal about E85 on one of our cruises you either plan on going WOT for a ridiculous amount of time or have no clue about E85 usage.
On a serious note, I found out that my car needs both side tie rod ends and it should be good to go.

My X did that when bone stock on pump. I suppose weight may be a factor.

How is refuting A/// Guy's incorrect statement 'making a big deal'? 160 miles isn't a problem.

You are very right sir.
You can also talk with your tuner about lean cruise, it is an option that I will be looking into over teh winter.
