If you want to keep the cost down and not worry about play back (via attachments) just go with the 960. I just sold mine that I used all last year on the Miata for Auto X. Great quality, and you'll get that same quality with every level of GoPro they have. The amount of mounting options out there make it useful in so many ways. The guy who bought mine this weekend is going ot start using it for a time lapse of his current vid, and will be able to mount it easiy in a wide range of garage angles. Then strap it onto this roll bar or suction cup mount to anywhere else on the car.
Yes the suction cup mounts work as well as the rest of the mounts, they make great products. I only sold mine as I have another in car video direction planned out.
