Just picked it up, it's a Savage Axis .270. Nothing special, but for free I'm not complaining!

Same gun I just got, .270 Axis XP in stainless. Doesn't feel super high quality (bolt is a little sloppy) but that damn thing is pretty accurate out of the box for an inexpensive gun.

AJ, your 22lr needs to be a Ruger 10/22!

I am probably going to be gun shopping shortly too. I need to add a couple of pistols and with the new shooting there are a bunch of people fired up on gun control again.

No need for full auto, but I did pick up my .22lr today. Ruger SR22. I'm still looking at 9mm options.

You were right about the bolt. Right where it cocks is a real tough spot, not real smooth to cycle, almost have to dismount it to get it to cycle a round through. I may have the local gunsmith take a file to the part of the bolt where the spring lever is.
