mbc, bov,ex wg, boost vac gauge hookup
I am a little confused on the correct setup for my car. I assume it is wrong as of now because the previous owner was sketchy for sure. I someone could take a little time here for me I would appreciate that....
setup is jmfab smim, tial 44mm wg, I believe halman mbc, bov, boost guage. can someone give me the right way to hook all these up please. As far as the lines go. My reading so far has been very confusing on the exact way to do this.
bov to smim
gauge t with fpr to smim
smim to mbc, mbc to tial wg

Hmm
BOV= SMIM YES
Gauge= Throttle Body instead, not sure if the intake manifold T idea will be a good enough source since its split...does the gauge hold full vaccum? If it does and your BOV operates fine then i assume its ok...
SMIM to MBC= NO Put one side of the MBC to the nipple located either on your Turbo's compressor housing itself or a nipple somewhere on your inter cooler piping (Ive never heard of people running it of the intake manifold...seems a little late in the circuit to me...but what do i know :P
MBC to WG= Yes...just make sure your get the right source going to the right inlet on your MBC else youll have a little bit to much boost Fun way to figure out if its right or not get on it in second gear if she spikes you got it wrong ha (oh make sure to turn the controller all the way down)

Yes, unless you get a picture up quickly before the Allstars see your thread that sounds like a rats nest... But yeah i responded assuming you had a stock Intake manifold sorry

Re: mbc, bov,ex wg, boost vac gauge hookup
ok will fix the wg problem.
I know this is lazy but what port do I use on a nt tb. think its a 1g nt.
also the gauge is acting funny in vac. it's like it's vibrating or fluttering at idle. it steadies out one I hit the throttle.

I wouldn't run anything off a throttle body port, they don't always work 100% correctly.

Re: mbc, bov,ex wg, boost vac gauge hookup
ok shane I will keep it where it is. I am going to give this new routing a try tonight or tomorrow. again should I use the top or side port on my waste gate. I will run intercooler pipe to boost controller, than the other line on the boost controller to the waste gate. I will use this for now and tap the tubo housing when I take the turbo apart to replace the compressor wheel.

Re: mbc, bov,ex wg, boost vac gauge hookup
You should run everthing at you stated in the first post. Dont tap your compressor cover. Use the side/bottom port on the wastegate. BOV Boost controler and gauge to the intake manifold. You can T into the fuel pressure regulator line if you don't have a extra port for the gauge. If you T into the FPR line make sure you clamp or zip tie the hoses. If the FPR line comes off you will blow our shit up.

Re: mbc, bov,ex wg, boost vac gauge hookup
damn I just rerouted the boost controller to the upper intercooler pipe tonight. This is the reason I asked this question, because it seems everyone has a different perspective on how to hook this up the right way. I didnt drive it or anything, but I did put the 1g bov back on and now I have a bov that actually works again. As far as using the side port i've got that hooked up. To my understanding the top port is to keep it shut longer. i.e. 10lb spring plus pressure in the top equalls >10lb spring.

Re: mbc, bov,ex wg, boost vac gauge hookup
With an MBC, just use the side port and leave the top port open so that it can breathe. You never use the top port by itself, the top port is usually used with an electronic boost controller.
Most people run stockish turbos off the compressor outlets and bigger turbos off the intake manifold. The best spot would actually probably be tapped into the upper intercooler pipe, right before the throttle body, but you rarely see that. In that spot you would have close to intake manifold boost readings(which are better than the ones coming right off the turbo) and then don't have the vacuum of the intake manifold.
It really doesn't matter a huge amount though.

MAF has nothing to do with it.
