Pad thickness/volume also matters for heat dissipation and how long they actually last.

That's true. The 'stang pad is thicker but the evo pad still wins the volume comparison.

Oh, one other factor to consider: when you go to the parts store and tell them you have a mustang cobra, you actually get respect from parts counter dudes. As opposed to the eye rolling response you get when you ask for mitsubishi parts
