Re: F'in thieves!

The good news is that you got it back with minimal damage.
The bad news is that he probably will serve minimal time, if any, and you might never see any money for damages.

Good to hear you got it back!

Re: F'in thieves!

Well, I go the bike back. It looks like it fell over on the left side while still (minor damage). The kicker is that the bastard was trying to debadge it!! Basically all of the stickers are taken off the bike, and poorly I might add. I think basically every body panel was damaged. It isn't horrible, but definately nothing like it was. The damage does not show up as well in the zoomed out pic's. Here is a before and after:

Re: F'in thieves!

I know a name and address from the police report. That is it so far. I am going to try and get a full police report on Mon. The one I have is just like a brief overview. He lives in East Bethel, so either he wasn't the one that stole it or they were out cruising and looking for a bike to steal, or had it premeditated.

See if they know a Jehered (pronounced like Jarad I believe). He lives right in Bethel.

These are people I haven't seen in close to 2 years... I was racing R/C cars just north of there at the time.

Re: F'in thieves!

I want to also add how much of a clusterfuck police/sheriffs office they have up there in andover/bethel. The girl at the sheriffs office had no clue that Justins bike was even at the Sheriffs office when we went to get it. The guy who stole it somehow had a fucking key but the sheriffs office didn't have it for us so there is a key still floating around out there for it?

The tow truck guy said the reason they just didn't keep it at the tow place is because they wanted it more south so its easier for people to come get it. Well that doesn't make much sense considering you have to go and pay the fucking tow truck guy before you can go and get the bike anyway, so either way you have to drive all over hell to get your shit back. I don't get why they wouldn't let Justin just go and pick it up right when they pulled the guy over, isn't that what they normally do if they can get a hold of you? What a damn backwards ass town. Its no wonder why the dumbshit that had the bike got pulled over a mile from his fucking house doing 105mph with no plate on a stolen bike. Must be something in the water.

Re: F'in thieves!

It's normal for them to take the stolen property into custody. Even if the owner is found right away. I believe that's normal procedure but you can ask the resident po-po for the exact details.

uhh no,

they have to process the bike for their records. Probly take a day or two.

good to hear it is back in the proper hands and what a MORON that guy is. 105 with no plate. It is bad enough to drive the bike in the same town much less do 105 with no plate.

darwin gets them one way or another.

Re: F'in thieves!

So then if thats true why does the tow company impound yard usually keep a car when it gets pulled over for a DUI? Either way processing or not, they obviously didn't process it very good considering they didn't even fucking know it was at the police station.

Re: F'in thieves!

Yeah, the cop told me I could have picked it up immediately. He actually told me I could have picked it up on the scene, but the tow truck was already en route.

Re: F'in thieves!

Awesome that you got it back. Maybe a good time to get the insurance requoted out. How much is the premium difference to go from $1000 down to $500 deduc? $500 wouldn't be just to bad to shell out to get something replaced but $1000 is getting to be alot of money.
