It's alive!

I had it running for a bit today, then changed the oil/filter, and then drove it around a little doing some vacuum coast down pulls to try to help seat the rings. No leaks or anything weird so far. I would like to run it for a few miles on the dyno doing some coast down high vacuum pulls to further seat the rings in.

Shane sent me a short video. He mentioned that it doesn't lope very much.

So how long do you think it'll be before you get it back?

Dunno. This email was at 9pm saying my car was currently on the dyno for some break-in. Sounds like he's working some crazy hours.

Typical shane. Everyone fuk's off and leaves him alone after hours, that's when he gets the real biz done

Re: Evo X upgrades
Says he has 28 cars at the shop and can barely close the doors at night. In light of that I'm going to pick up my car and run it with the prior tune for a couple weeks (or whenever I can work into his regular tuning schedule). He said he added 9% to fix the fuel trims so there's a little more airflow going on with this setup.
Breaking it in can't hurt and after two months without an Evo, I think I have enough patience to wait a few weeks for 400whp. This'll give me time to finish up the cosmetic stuff that I have on the to-do list, as well as gauges. Need to make an appt with Jeff for a corner balance/align as well.

Is there anything you aren't changing? I am sure the car will be a beast on the track.

Motorcycle cop pulls up next to me on UNI and says "Want to race?"
Me- "I don't think you would stand a chance."
Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

I think the stock Evo alignment is done by a blind guy with a hammer.

Put 150 miles on it yesterday getting my Dad's car back to him. Next oil change today.
The additional lag makes 5th gear easier to deal with.

Going to take another 'executive lunch' today. It has the stock turbo tune on it with updated fuel trims to fix the AFR. I'm not sure what that's going to equate to, I assume a little more power than stock turbo since it has more fuel.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Nice, well good luck, let us know initial impressions. You need to get tuned soon, if you make enough power maybe it will convince me to keep the X.
