Dropped my car off at DB this afternoon for the tune. I am having fun with the video camera. Shot a quick video of the engine bay and exhaust note today. Either I've gotten use to the exhaust or it's actually quieter now than when I first picked it up...not sure which.
The ID2000 injectors are installed and they did a boost leak test. It sounds like we're still on track for the tune by end of business on Friday. Works for me.
Hope things go well so you are able to go to the Monday track day. I was at the BMW event this past weekend on the long course and had a blast.
Just remember to keep all four on the ashphault

Motorcycle cop pulls up next to me on UNI and says "Want to race?"
Me- "I don't think you would stand a chance."
Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

Radiator hoses hold up this go-around? TTM has one date with the long course...that'll be fun. I've obviously never gone flat out in 5th before.
I've asked Shane to give me two tunes--an aggressive one for numbers and a pretty darn tame one for my HPDE days. I'll probably just run the tame tune 99% of the time. I'm not Ryan Gates or anything. lol.
I've got a ton of new parts on a car that hasn't been pushed that hard yet. I'm wondering about heat management (now that I have a tubular without a heat shield) as well.
The stock brake fluid isn't a good thing at this point, either. Need to see if scheides has time next week to supervise stainless line install and a fluid flush.
Whats wrong with the stock fluid? Are you really going to be pushing the car that hard? Racing/autox?
HPDE on Monday and the auto-x novice school on the 5th & 6th. TTM's inspection checklist says that your brake fluid should be no more than 6 months old. I've owned the car less than a year but it was manufactured some time in 2007, I'd imagine.
My first time up at BIR I actually didn't use the brakes enough to experience fade...I drive like an old lady. That will probably change at some point this Summer, though.

I took my car instead of my brother's blue one. No issues aside from needing to change tires. I used these rear tires at prior HPDEs so they had some wear to begin with. I ended up stealing my brother's rear wheels and finishing his tires off as well

They probably won't actually inspect your fluid, but it is always best to make sure it is fresh. I bought some of the super blue from MAP and put that in before I went. Still managed to experience brake fade if I was heavy on the brakes for multiple laps.
Not sure what you have done to your brakes, but mine at still 100% stock on my car. I will probably try to upgrade them before the next track day I attend. My car has only 14k on it so there is still some life in the pads/rotors. Would probably benefit greatly from some better ones though.

Stock, factory brake fluid and all. The plan is to put on the Technafit lines & ATE Super Blue next week.
With only 7k miles on the car there should be plenty of brake pad left on there. I intend to burn them up in the next couple of months and then I'll go to Girodisc rotors and DS2500's.
