Re: SE take two!

Hmm, ok. FWIW the brass ones in my 1g were seized to the point of no return. But then again they had probably been in there since the scheides days of that car (~10 years old)

I'll probably go with poly ones myself then.

Andrew- No bad ass looking anti surge housing huh?

Figured it won't surge anyway because of all the ported plus bigger displacement. Also those covers are way too loud sounds like a freight train lol...Also like the wolf in sheeps clothing!

He wanted to keep his Perrin turbo inlet pipe and go with the stock-apprearing compressor cover.

Re: SE take two!

Pretty sure I'm getting a BBXLite or EF2 (vs. FP Green) for that very reason, anti-surge cover whistling is irritating as hell during part-throttle daily-driving.

People at work complain that my car whistles at them when I drive through the underground parking ramp.

Re: SE take two!

TA DA!

We got this bitch running today The engine bay will look 100x better once he gets the exhaust manifold heat shield coated. I'm really liking the red theme though (valve cover, intake manifold, intake pipe, & battery tray), it's a great contrast to the silver paint.

Sadly no, we had to take his Prius to lunch. We got the engine fired up a little after 5pm today. I'm sure we'll be out breaking it in fully then tuning it this week. He got some special fancy Amsoil 30W break-in oil for it. I know he siphoned out the 10 month old E85 tonight after I left and is planning on dumping in some fresh stuff after he takes his wife and kids to dinner.

Re: SE take two!

Laramie gave me a tip on old fuel in tank. On the bottom on each side of tank is a M12 bolt just jack up rear put a bucket under and remove bolt. I got the tank drained completely took 3 car wash buckets for about 3/4 tank. Put in 4 fresh gallons of E85 changed the rom and its running awesome should be breakin it in today wooooohoooooooo!!!!!

Re: SE take two!

Lots of tuning to do still but overall it's running good. I really like the 4.11 gears 2900 rpm at 70mph now that's more like it. HUGE thanks go out to Hughes and Laramie who without them this wouldn't have happened.
