Thumbs down cant go in gear

like the title says. i cant go into any gear when the car is on, but i can go in when the car is off.

i just put in brand new act 2600 clutch and disc/TOB. right after the new clutch is in, it wouldn't go in any gear. i try adjusting the clutch, new slave cylinder and try bleeding the hydrolic lines and the slave but nothing. the slave rod is pushing the fork/pressure plate so i am guessing the bleeding is correct.

looking at the fork and inside the boot, i can see the pressure plate moving/vibrating. is this normal?

anyone please, please help me on this one. i took the tranny off four times already.

Re: cant go in gear

put it in gear and push the clutch in and start the car. if the car wants to move or does it is not shimmed right.

Re: cant go in gear

what do you mean shim the ball. is it putting washers behind the pivot ball. i did put one washer behind it though.

first when i took the tranny off, i didn't resurface the flywheel, it didn't go in gear. the second time i took the tranny off, and i had the flywheel resurface to .610 as stock i think, and still not going into gear.

the clutch pedal is bypass so that i wouldn't have to press it when starting the car.

i already try putting in gear and started the car up. but i heard some thing scratching/rubbing and i can smell burn. i took everything apart and found out that there's burn on the disc and pressure plate. also the act tob was scratching the finger's on the plate but not much.

Re: cant go in gear

Your problem is clutch adjustment. Your clutch is not fully releasing and is causing you syncros to drag. Do not drive it or try to force it into gear, you will break a shift fork and you are also dragging/wearing your syncros out quickly!

Shimming your pivot ball is not for adjustment, its to make sure the end of the clutch fork has enough travel to release the clutch before it makes contact with the bellhousing. It may be your problem, hopefully not. Make sure the fork is at least in the middle of the hole or towards the engine when released.

Re: cant go in gear

i've try almost anything i could think of. but still cant get it in. i've even try putting two washers behind the pivot ball also.

clutch fork is sitting in the center.

anyone know anything about the pressure plate vibrating. because my pressure plate is vibrating up and down very fast. if i try to stick a stick to touch the plate, it'll buzz like a machine gun going off but not loud. lol..

I know it sounds dumb but did you put the disc in backwards?

Re: cant go in gear

Make sure the pilote bushing is installed correctly (or at all) that could give you some gnarly vibration

Re: cant go in gear

Get an extended slave cylinder rod?

And is .610 a step for ACT clutches? I thought they were different.
