Re: having N00b problems.....

Bad coolent temp senser? Or wires for the MAF-T were damaged when you pulled the motor out. Also when you did the Tbelt were the 2 dowel pins up on the cams?

This is some of the worst wiring in the world, so maybe I was wrong to assume that the gm maf was connected correctly...

The next step is to remove the GM MAF and SAFC completely. get a 1G mas and another ECU. Bring everything back to stock.
Right now, I'd put my money on the MAF-T or the GM MAF.

Re: having N00b problems.....

Brand new mitsubishi coolant temp sensor.

Going to 1G mas to rule out the GM MAF, and the GM MAF is not throwing out any error codes.

The dowel pins are pointed upwards, good call though, years ago I made the mistake of aligning the gears incorrectly. I am not sure that I could see compression that high with the timing that off...

Thanks for all the help, when i find out what it is ill post it up here.

It could be the wires for the temp sensor also, check with a logger to see what the ecu says for coolent temp.

Re: having N00b problems.....

Well, they (joe and will) broke the car in last night (6am this morning) it was a late night.

Aparently all the "known good" ecu's that i was using (provided by the car owner) were defective, although the boards look ok.

The only known good 91+ ECU that I own is in my GVR4, and Its pretty hard to take out since its not behind the stereo like DSMs.

Thanks for the help guys! If anyone is curious how a new (china) Evo3 GT turbo holds up to abuse let me know, but so far its a "fantastic" turbo!
