Im having a couple of problems...

Before i say what problem im having here are the Specs:

1990 Eagle Talon TSi

Work Done:
MOTOR...
Block was Cryo Treated
Custom made tubular exhaust man.
Balance shafts removed
Apexi avcr

RC enginering 660cc injectors
JE piston set .020 over
Eagle rod set
.272 webcam cams
Aem fuel rail
Aem adjustable cam gears
Arp head studs
Magnus intake manifold
Scm61 turbo
Walboro 255lh fuel pump
Stage 3 front CV axels
Lower ball joints

Infinity front and rear speakers
Sony color deck
Act 6 puck race clutch
Act 2900.. pressure plate
Xact streetlight flywheel
Clutch slave cylander
Koyo radiator
Turbonetics intercooler kit
Rebuilt head
Compustar alarm/remote start 2 way
Tenzo R black seats
Taylor plug wires 8.5mm
Pit 40mm wastegate
Tsudo 3" downpipe w/ 3" piping all the way back to the greddy exhaust

and then the head...

HEAD WORK
__________________________________________________ _
1mm over
fererra intake valves
fererra exhaust valves
lifters
keepers
competion valve job 5 angle per valve
6 hours of port work
resurface head
tip valves, assemble cams, rocker arms, and lifters
set up valve spring height & check retainer/ seal
hone valve guides
rocker arms
valve seals
oil plugs
cam seals

This is the problem.
when i go to start it it will idle at like 3250 but it will sometimes go down then back up. when you try driving it, it doesn't feel like the turbo is spooling at all. i know its a bigger turbo so it probably wouldnt spool till like 3500- 4000 rpm but when the motor is under a load it hesitates like crazy around that rpm. The check engine light is not on and i noticed that on my SAFC the injector % is at like 68% when it does idle right( which is never) ive tried multiple things but i wanted to see what other people on here had to say.

Any advice or suggestions would be a big help

Thanks
-Stephan

Between the fuel pump and clutch there are speakers.
I'm too tired to start on this tonight. I do like the mod list though.

I would guess your timing is not set right, you are probably a tooth or two off. Check that first thing. And then pray you didn't fuck anything else up.

This is a tech thread. If you have nothing to contribute to the topic at hand then don't post anything.

Yea i know... I origanally wasn't planning on doing all of the work when i bought the safc, im now looking to buy an AEM EMS...

And yea i know the list is kinda goofy. but it was something i had already written up so i used it. It would suck to have to write that everytime i had a question or anything like that so...

But yea any help would be great

And i will check the timing tomorrow. Thanks

Re: Im having a couple of problems...

Oh and also on the SAFC the RPM reads like 1118 and the actual tach reads the 3250 or whatever...

Any ideas?

Your s-afc isn't setup correctly then.
Go into the settings and make sure the correct number of cylinders is "chosen".
(options are 2-4-6, if I recall).

Mine did that too, when it worked. I ended up having to switch it to 2 cylinder for some reason.

If all you're using to tune is the SAFC, I would think that it only reading half the RPMs would have a little something to do with that hesitation.

Your RPM will be correct once you set it to 2cycles. I had the issue the first time I installed my SAFC. Are you using a eprom ecu?

Re: Im having a couple of problems...

I have it set to 2 cyl, the RPMs now match and it idles a little better but it's still no good.

I dont know why it wont boost, but i will see if my timing is off. I dont think it is but im gonna check just to make sure. I dont hear any knock, tick.... nothing.

Just line up your crank pulley with the mark and see where your cam gears are at. If its good then we can check in a different direction. You might be surprised at what you see.

Re: Im having a couple of problems...

Alright i was reading in a diffrent thread that you need 3 engine grounds... I only have one. I dont think it matters where they go but im not sure. I still haven't rechecked my timing but im going to tonight.

I guess my question is:

Do i need 3 engine grounds?
If it matters where they are where do they go?
