What should I do?

Alright, here's the situation. There's a kid that wanted to trade my nitrous kit for a torque wrench (Snap on). I said OK to it, since I wasn't getting much interest. So I get there, take a look at the wrench and ask if it works perfectly, which is the exact word that I used. The kid said, "Yes of course." So I go ahead with the deal. This is after I drove an hour and fifteen minutes out of my way to make this trade. So I get home and try using it..........Doesn't work!! It's just a big breaker bar. So I contact him back and tells me that we'll work it out. He's put me off for a week now. I told him I wanted to come up Sunday to either exchange items back or have something take the wrench's place. No answer. So I'm left with some options:

A.) Continue to attempt to contact him. If he doesn't pull through, let it go.
B.) Go up, find his place (which I know the general location of and a pic of his place), and throw the wrench threw a car window.
C.) Key the shit out of his car and try to steal the nitrous kit back.

What would you do? And who would be up for a witch-hunt?

I want to be honest with you guys........I'm a pretty easy guy to get along with and normally I wouldn't do anything serious like this. However, if I am disrepected or totally ripped off, like this situation, then I'm not going to sit back and take it lightly. Please post your insight. Thank you.

Re: What should I do?

I would knock on his door with tq wrench in hand and demand the nitrous kit back. Dont do shit to his property, do something to him if you want to get physical(which I wouldnt recommend yet).

Is the same one that was for sale on MNSCC forever?

Re: What should I do?

I wouldnt go with any of those options. I would go with Tim's idea. Go get your Nitrous Kit back. I'm kinda like you. If I get disrepected like that, I'd be pissed as hell and would almost do both Option B and C . But the consequences for doing it wouldnt be worth it.

Re: What should I do?

I'd kick your own ass for not trying the wrench out before hand. Too many people these days are afraid to try things out for themsleves in hopes that that won't have to risk offending someone. It's called a business transaction, and the way I see this particular case it's a bad luck case of trading used parts for used part.

I would definetly beat him up, take the nitrous kit back, and keep the wrench.

Re: What should I do?

IF you can contact him, he should be driving down to meet you and give the kit back. Then just make sure everyone knows he's a f*cking liar.

If not, he owe's you the kit for sure. Show up at his house and ask for it or your asking price for it. He'll probably give it back. Also, collect gas money or keep the wrench (breaker bar), because he owe's you something for the trouble.

Failing any of those more reasonable solutions, kick the crap out of him. Leave his property alone though.

Re: What should I do?

I don't want to sound like a pu$$y but, does anyone know if there are any legal actions he can take?
If not, I'd try to talk face to face with him. If he still doesn't want to give it back, I'd beat his a$$!
Also, what are you going to say if he said that you broke it after you brought it home?

Re: What should I do?

Yes it was the kit that I had up for a very long time. He doesn't know who I am and I haven't threatened him yet in any way. I don't know where "exactly" he lives, but the dumbass took a picture of his car infront of his house and met me near it. Case in point, I am not going to let this go. Something will be done. He doesn't know who I am nor where I live. Maybe 2 people even on this forum have met me. It may not be legal, but when you don't know who it was you can't point any fingers. And please don't tell me what's wrong and right. I know, I don't need to be lectured.

Re: What should I do?

Just curious but how is it just a breaker bar? You know that a torque wrench has settings on it or a dial on it somewhere to adjust the torque? If it doesnt have that and you still bought it then I would blame yourself for not know what one is

If its stuck or doesnt work properly than go after him by contacting him first, try calling from a diff phone number or go to his house after 6PM with a couple friends and talk business.

Im guessing this is the kid you bought it from? http://www.mnsportcompacts.net/forum...ad.php?t=30868

I would call him from a different number and ask about some of the other items he still has for sale, then meet him at his house and there you go, confrontation FTW.

I got a feeling he means that without the torque settings working, it is just a breaker bar, because he can't set the torque spec he wants.

I say we get a alot of people to go up there..I mean not to kick his ass. But if you roll up to someones house with like 10-20 other cars I think the kid would just shit him slef and give it back!

Re: What should I do?

If it were me, I wouldnt beat him up, I would put the wrench through his windows or something. I wouldnt fuck someone up, there would be atleast one eye witness (him) to the crime and I would think you'd get into trouble easier. If you broke a few windows and took off, I would think less people would see you and you would for sure be less identifyable as long as no one was around. Plus you'd get the satisfaction in knowing he would be pissed as hell that his windows got broken but it would be doubled because he wouldnt have any idea who.

I agree with the guy above me, just get a new one. Then everyone is happy and theres no broken body parts on him or his car.

Snap-on has lifetime warranty. Just call'em up and say "eh... my wrench doesnt work, can I get a new one?" and they'll be glad to replace it for you.

Correct! And I believe the only thing that is lifetime about torque wrenches is the ratcheting head. None of the parts of the wrench besides the ratcheting mechanism are normally covered under lifetime warranty.
