They are easy, seriously, buy a soldering iron and do it yourself. Nothing to be scared of, just make sure you do the right wires. My buddy and I did it in about an hour and a half, and it works perfectly, and that was using instructions are wiring diagrams that didn't come with the safc, so there was some deciphering of the technical jargon involved in the diagrams.

Yah its simple. The hardest part is soldering cuz its all up under the dash but for me at least it was simple.

i'd help out, but i got a head to install at the end of the week/into next week. I also work full-time 9-6, and family/friends keep me busy. Plus, soldering under the dash sucks ass. But, i am usually about making the money, since it helps fund my dsm.

Dam dude... there is like 6 or 7 wires and it's extremely easy to install. If you can't learn to install something as simple as this, then you shouldn't mod your car at all. If i had to pay for every little thing I did to my car, I'd be broke & bankrupt. I'm a banker also, not a mechanic. I've done 100% of my car myself and it's very modded.

It's been awhile since I did one. Thinking back, there was a black & brown or something like that from the AFC that are spliced onto the same ECU wire. One of those colors i mentioned has to be closer to the harness connector than the other. It should state that in the vfaq but I just wanted to point it out. Yes, it's VERY easy to do. You'll reward yourself with satisfaction once you're done. Just do it neatly and solder the joints and tape them. Don't just splice, wrap the wires together and tape.
I'd say the toughest part of the job is just getting your head close enough under there to see what the hell your doing.

Look at the VFAQ do not go by what the manual says, i think its wrong if i remember correctly...

Ive heard that the Manual is wrong but when i did it the vfaq way it wouldnt run and i brought it to a speedshop and they couldnt figure why it wouldnt work so i took it all apart and i did by the manual and its been great ever since. mybe its cause its a 1g auto i dont know.

Yeah, i just looked at the 1g vfaq for you. It's easy. They tell you everything you need to know. They show you the ends of the connector and which positions are what. So make sure you take that into consideration so you get the right wires.

ok sorry about this last post, but I did sit down and take apart and unhook the ECU etc, and you all were right, as I looked at the vfaq, it did seem easy, it just got late and I wanted to stop, but my last question is that although I do have a sodering gun and soder etc ready to go, it A)doesnt say on vfaq that I need them, and B) I don't know how I would soder onto plastic connectors, unless I am missing something, and once again, thanks for the info

they are talking about when you splice the wires into the ecu wires you need to soder the connection so that it gets a good solid signal. When i did my 2g SAFC2 i didnt use a soder gun, but thats because i am ghetto and ghetto people do ghetto things. LOL jk. But you should soder the connections just so that its solid. then use electrical tape or shrink tube to cover it.

ya but the ecu wires lead into a big yellow plastic adaptor plug, so do i put the wires where they go and soder onto plastic, becuase that's ghetto if I do that, and anyone know what a good setting is for 660 injectors, iv heard that -20 is good

No no no. Dont do anything with the plugs, just splice into the wires, it will work just as well.
What turbo are you running?
The settings are based on the setup you have, IF you would like to ask a question like what setting is good, we will need more info on your current setup.
On my 50 trim turbo, and 680cc injectors, intake, ported exhaust mani, tial wastegate, rewired fuel pump, 21 psi, i was using around -15 through -20.

currently I am running a 16g turbo, walbro fuel pump (will be putting on 660's with the safc), 2g exhaust manifold, greddy type s, apex'i catback exhaust, and a recent dejon hard intake with 2g mas, which I hooked up, and the car runs, and drives, but wont run very well, idk if those old hoses need plugs to stop air etc, and about the plugs, how can i splice into wires if the plugs are there, do I take them off, idk sorry bout all the posts, I got this things stock, and the last thing I wanna do is this is gauges which I already have, electrical isnt my thing, thanks
