tuning safc2 for 14b, 550cc, maft

should i be adding a bunch of fuel at idle and taking away a lot at higher rpm?? trying to tune 21psi on 14b.. would i be maxing out the 550cc's at that point??

You probably wouldn't max out the stock 450s at 21psi on a 14B. The main reason people have to get 550s on DSMs is usually to avoid fuel cut by going overly large on the injectors and fooling the ECU into thinking there is less airflow.

Are you trying to run 21psi with a stock SMIC though? Pump or race gas? The 14B is going to be a heat generatoring knock machine at 21psi, unless you are on E85 or race gas.

Re: tuning safc2 for 14b, 550cc, maft

im on 92 pump with a 255 pump and an ebay FMIC... i opened up my translator and set everything back to zero and it made everything better.. havent had too much time messing around with it but the max i got was 9 counts with 93% d/c, but still breaks up at 5k just cuz its so rich.. im going to lower it on the safc2, which im sure will be fine afterwards.. my trims are 90-100% which i believe is good.. all in all, im glad it aint running lean, as far as heat goes, my temp stays around 189-194 on a stock 7-bolt 1g block with 160k+ miles .... but should i be messing too much with the LOW setting on the safc2?? is that for MID throttle 1-8 psi??

The Low setting is usually for idle and cruise. Low and Hi are based off of throttle position, which you set in the SAFC. Normally with bigger than stock injectors, you do some basic tuning to the low throttle. Who knows with the MAFT though, the scaling out of those things are all over the place.
