I don't know if it will ever really take off. Everybody is either complaining about the poor rod ratio the 2.4L has or that the 2.4L makes too much torque and will trash your tranny. So I can't see how anybody will like the 2.6L any better, it only makes those two issues worse. Me, I like torque, but I'm not sure if the benefits out weigh the cost. Although more stroke has a bigger benefit than more bore size by comparison, going from a 2.4L to the 2.6L is only about 8-9% more displacement where as going from a 2.0L to a 2.4L is 20%. Now if you go from 2.0L to 2.6L then you get a whopping 29% increase in displacement. But you can go 2.4L for a lot less money.
