Re: ds Map
I believe Shane said it was very rough between transitions. I am sure he will chime in on this soon.

What makes you so sure of that? The website does a very poor job of selling the product. Looks like some guy built a page using frontpage or one of those free website builders.

Re: ds Map
Right now they are at RC1 for DSMAP, (RC1 means release candidate 1) They are not currently SELLING the products. Yes, the website is not clean, I am sure that they will make it look pretty when they are ready to go commercial.
Right now DSMAP V1 is free, if you ask nicely, you can get RC1 for free if you become a beta tester.
People have been using the free version of the software since 2005, its very nice, nobody seems to have anything bad to say about it, native wideband/MAP sensors FTMFW

Saying one unreleased product will beat another unreleased product is pretty smart.

Re: ds Map
You can change a couple things to make a 4 bar map sensor work. I wouldn't see any reason to run it on a car that doesn't need something bigger than a 3 bar in the first place though. The attitudes of a lot of people on that forum have turned off and away a lot of people from it though. DSMAP isn't the only native ECU SD out there for 1G DSMs and one version is already beyond what DMAP V2 will have.

Re: ds Map
What are the other SD setups available? (keep in mind cost, and native WB support)

If it's so great, why are most of us just hearing about it now? If something's free and it works, DSM'rs are all over it and it's all over the web. I call BS.
I'll keep my DSMlink, thanks.

Its called innovation, if you dont like it fine, but don't call BS on a community of people with years of positive results, and its important that people know that there is an option to LINK, which is also fine, but I hate my MAS sensor, no room in the DSM for it

Re: ds Map
Well if any one would like to see a live running example of ds-map, you can take a look at my car. It is living proof!! I do have quite a bit of messing around with it but it is looking positive for right now.

Re: ds Map
I've heard of it, but never had any reason to try it as I'm more then happy with my Link setup. And as someone said, the attitudes of those that boast it turn me away.
I'm not a cocky individual, and that's the vibe I get from most (not all) who use it. I hear a lot of "this product blows away the competition, the competitions product is trash". That's not the kind of thing I like to support. I'm more of a 'different strokes for different folks' kind of guy. I'm happy with what I have, you're happy with what you have. Sure I'd love to hear more of what yours is all about, but not if it entails trash talking what I'm happily using.
