Re: cant remove axel from hub.... need help!
Like it's stuck in the tranny, or stuck on the wheel side? I often have to pry them out of the tranny. And if I can't get it out of the wheel hub, I put the castle nut on and pound it out that way with a sledge.

Re: cant remove axel from hub.... need help!
Ugh what a bitch, I mean bitches! Both front axles are stuck in the wheel hubs, wtf!!! We tried everything. Ended up pulling the entire hub assembly apart and laying it on the ground.
Only thing holding it to the car now is the wheel speed sensors. They are unbolted, but don't seem to want to budge. Do they just pry off? They look so delicate!
If we can get them off then Mark said he had some shit to get them apart with a press. I don't know if we really *need* to get them apart now, we could just put them back together, assuming we didn't eff up the axle trying to initially get it out (driver's side got the most banging).
Fukin DSMs!

Tried that. Maybe after they soak for a few days...I'll try and remember to hit them each time I pass by in the garage.

Yup, a 2006 Evo IX w/ 79950 miles on the stock clutch! No wonder people usually replace the clutch soon on these things, so shit like this doesn't happen!

2zzgtte is having the same issues at the moment on his trying to change a wheel bearing. I did mine and I put the axle nut on backwords and a ton of PB with a huge hammer.

Yes, we kept making sure the nut was ok by threading it on and off in between poundings with the sledge.

I'd say a good air hammer is next. Please stop referring to old cars as dsms.

I'm not; just saying its no different than a DSM (I've been saying this for years now). It's got a 4G63 turbo w/ AWD, and with age all of the same problems will come along.

Re: cant remove axel from hub.... need help!
Wheel speed sensors usually become one with wheel hubs (knuckles). At least on Suby's, hence one of the reasons I'm running without ABS. I didn't feel like buying new ones

Re: cant remove axel from hub.... need help!
How about a monster sized press once the sensors are off? Also, setting it up vertically so the PB Blaster penetrates deeply with gravity will probably help.

Re: cant remove axel from hub.... need help!
did you try one of those hub pullers that bolts to the lug studs and pushes in on the axle? I find that those work great.
